Records date both from before and after the merger of the Psychology and Education departments in 1975. Included are correspondence; memos; minutes of department meetings, 1975-1979; annual reports from the files of the Department Chairman; reading lists; syllabi; student papers; examinations; course schedules from education and psychology courses, 1960s and 1970s; and from Home Economics courses, 1965-1968. Also included are Psychology Division minutes, 1952-1957, and miscellaneous records; Education Division minutes, 1954-1957, and files on such matters as budget, teacher certification and licensing, various Education Division committees, and the Advisory Council of Colleges and Universities in Teacher Education (ACCUTE).

Began in 1930 as courses offered to graduates of Marymount School at Fifth Avenue and East 83rd Street as a substitute for admission to the residential Marymount College at Tarrytown, New York.
